No Season 3 for “Our Flag Means Death”

We’re very sorry to report MAX will not be renewing “Our Flag Means Death” for a third season. Not that it really NEEDED it, but, we were hopeful. The piratical comedy was also a heartfelt love story of contentious captains and crews who all found a family.

We love you, crew. “Our Flag Means Death” HBO, MAX

Starring Rhys Darby as Stede Bonnet and Taika Waititi as Edward “Blackbeard” Teach, these weren’t your average sea-faring rapscallions.

“While Max will not be moving forward with a third season of Our Flag Means Death, we are so proud of the joyous, hilarious, and heartfelt stories that creator David Jenkins, Taika Waititi, Rhys Darby, Garrett Basch, Dan Halsted, Adam Stein, Antoine Douaihy, and the entire superb cast and crew brought to life. We also thank the dedicated fans who embraced these stories and built a gorgeous, inclusive community surrounding the show,” a MAX spokesperson said in a statement.

You can catch both seasons on MAX. Until they get rid of them. Here’s hoping we’ll maybe get a physical release.
