    This just in-

CBS has given a straight-to-series order for a prequel to long-running (oh so long) series “NCIS.” The prequel will follow character Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) as a freshly minted agent in 1991. Harmon co-developed the series with his son Sean Harmon, veteran “NCIS” writers-producers Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North.

We’ll see Gibbs starting his career at Camp Pendleton, where he’ll forge his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Muse Watson).

Mark Harmon will narrate the series, which is expected to air sometime in the 2024-2025 broadcast season on CBS.

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
