George Clooney Comments on “Ocean’s 11” Prequel Casting

This is one of those casting rumors we’ve been aware of for sometime. Not only does it make pretty perfect sense in the context of the characters and franchise, but it’s just kinda perfect all the way around. We’re speaking of course of the recent influx of trades saying there’s every possibility we’ll be seeing Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling play Danny Ocean’s parents in an “Ocean’s 11” prequel film.

Pretty perfect, right? Especially when you take into account how that pair would theoretically make George Clooney.

“Margot Robbie’s my mother? I’ve always thought that,” Clooney recently said on the red carpet. “And Ryan Gosling is my father, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Truly.”

While far from a confirmation, that wink to this ‘news’ is pretty great. Plot details for the “Ocean’s 11” prequel are still being kept under wraps, but it is believed that the story will take place in 1960s Europe. Things we know for sure so far is that Jay Roach is set to direct from a script by Carrie Solomon.
