Paramount+ Gives Series Order to “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy”

Paramount+ has just given the official series order for upcoming live action series, “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.” This is a series that’s been rumored/in-development off and on for 20+ years. Current “Trek” sheppard Alex Kurtzman will co-showrun “Starfleet Academy” with Noga Landau.

“Admission is now open to Starfleet Academy! Explore the galaxy! Captain your destiny! For the first time in over a century, our campus will be re-opened to admit individuals a minimum of 16 Earth years (or species equivalent) who dream of exceeding their physical, mental and spiritual limits, who value friendship, camaraderie, honor and devotion to a cause greater than themselves. While we don’t know exactly where in the continuum the series will land, it’s likely to tie most closely in with “Star Trek: Discovery.” This news comes on the heels of “Strange New Worlds” and “Lower Decks” getting renewals.

Tawny Newsome has reportedly joined the writers room for the project.
