Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya has a new project on the horizon. He’s apparently joining the cast of Sony’s upcoming “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” animated film as none other than Spider-Punk! Hobie Brown aka Spider-Punk first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #10” in 2015, and has been a modern-fan favorite.

Kaluuya recently starred in Jordan Peele‘s “Nope,” and has a slew of acclaimed performances under his belt. Including the role that nabbed him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for “Judas and the Black Messiah.”

At present, plot details are pretty under wraps. We do know Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kemp Powers will direct. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Christina Steinberg will produce.

The film currently has a set release date of June 2nd, 2023. We expect to get more details soon.
