The one and only Kate Mulgrew took time out of her busy schedule to visit a very special place. “Star Trek” fans know future birthplaces of Starfleet captains is a pretty big thing in the franchise. Sometimes time travel episodes (or films) happen in these locations. Sometimes fangroups erect special monuments to commemorate these places.
In this case, the future birthplace of one Captain Catherine Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager in Bloomington, Indiana. A group of fans built and installed a bust of Mulgrew as Captain Janeway from “Star Trek: Voyager” in a public park. And as of this past weekend, Mulgrew came to visit it.
It’s pretty darn great.
You can watch Mulgrew’s statements at the Statue here. “Star Trek: Voyager” is available to stream, along with all other “Star Trek” series, on Paramount+.
