    [SDCC 2022] Live from “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Hall H Panel

    “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” came to Hall H in a very big way. A surprise concert with orchestra and chorus conducted by Emmy-winning series composer Bear McCreary kicked things off in an amazing way.

    Moderated by one of the world’s foremost Tolkien fans Stephen Colbert, the gathered crowd was treated the big wrap around screens unveiling more special footage.

    “We wanted to find a huge Tolkienian epic, and Amazon, no bs, let us make the show we wanted to make,” one of the show runners said.

    When asked what the most nerve wracking thing about doing the series, the answer was unanimously “everything.” It’s obvious this series is a labor of passion for all involved.

    A new trailer was shown, and HOLY CRAP. It’s wonderful. A freaking BALROG.

    “The second age is so vastly huge, I don’t think we’ll get to the third age.”

    YES, the dwarven women WILL have beards!

    “The Rings of Power” is set to hit Amazon Prime Video on September 2nd, 2022.
