“The Boys” Spinoff Gets Official Title- “GEN V”

Hot on the heels of the season 3 finale of Amazon Prime Video’s hugely popular “The Boys,” we have an update on that spinoff series. After some false starts- mostly stemming from changing actors- we’ve got some good news for fans. The collegiate spinoff series will be called “GEN V,” and we’ve got some casting confirmations.

Amazon Prime Video also shared a synopsis of sorts:

Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.

The series will star Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. No word on any character specifics, but we expect those before too long.

Showrunners for “GEN V” are Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who will also serve as executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers.

Obviously, no word on a release date for “GEN V” yet, but we’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. Seasons 1-3 of “The Boys” are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. You can read our review of season 3 here, and interview with cast & creatives here.
