Sounds like filmmaker James Gunn is getting animated! True, we have his “Guardians of the Galaxy” Christmas special to look forward to on Disney+, but we’re talking about something DC Comics-related. True, he’s not writing it or directing it, but it’s fun to see Gunn involved in something else.

HBO Max’s popular “Harley Quinn” cartoon series will feature a cameo from Gunn in the upcoming 3rd season. Who will Gunn be playing? Why, himself, naturally.

“Harley Quinn” features Kaley Cuoco as Harley, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Cheryl, and Barbara, Alan Tudyk as Joker, Clayface, Calendar Man, Doctor Trap, and Condiment King, Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho and Felix Faust, Ron Funches as King Shark, Jason Alexander as Sy Borgman, and J.B. Smoove as Frank the Plant.

Season 3 is currently in production now. You can watch seasons 1-2 on HBO Max now. We’ll let you know what we hear about a release date.
