Press Reviews of Disney World’s Galactic Starcruiser are Live

First and foremost, if you don’t want spoilers for Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel experience, please find something else to read. The official press embargo for the Halcyon dropped today, and that means videos and reviews are everywhere.

If you’ll recall, Walt Disney World in Florida announced plans for the Halycon Galactic Starcruiser back in 2017 during D23. Responses were pretty universally positive. Fans wanted to experience the fully themed hotel. After years of construction and teases, the Galactic Starcruiser finally opened it’s airlocks to select members of the press.

The experience is billed as a 2-night adventure, with visitors of all ages becoming part of the story. Fully immersive, guests are expected to fulfill various roles throughout the Halcyon. Costumes, face characters, technological advances and more were announced to complete the stay.

The biggest drawback however, other than, you know, Florida- the price tag. But wouldn’t one be willing to pay top-dollar for the perfect “Star Wars” vacation? Yes and no. Bookings haven’t been as solid as the House of Mouse would like them to be. But, the general consensus of invited media and press seems to be overall positive.

Bryan Young says he’ll have a write up soon, but his Twitter thread review is good.

The Tim Tracker’s video review here.

    CNN’s review here.

The New York Times’ review here.

The Verge’s review here. (This review has some of our favorite photos we’ve seen yet!)

Even with the strange decision to have Han and Leia’s honeymoon on the Halcyon, we’re excited to eventually experience the Galactic Starcruiser.
