    Patrick Stewart to Retire Picard After S3 of “Star Trek: Picard”

    When Sir Patrick Stewart says something, you believe him. The enigmatic English actor stated Paramount+’s “Star Trek: Picard” title character, Captain Jean Luc Picard, will be retired after the end of season 3. Akiva Goldsmith, writer/producer, confirmed the show was never “planned to run indefinitely.”

    There will not be a season 4.

    The pair sat down for a chat with SFX Magazine, and while we don’t have the exact quote, /Film makes it pretty clear what the gist of the matter is.

    Earlier this month, Paramount+ announced “Picard” season 2’s release date, as well as the news of season 3 entering production soon. Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ on March 3rd, 2022.
