Yes, you read that correctly- a reboot of Cliffhanger is coming, and we’re actually kind of excited? As you can tell from this brightly-hued artwork displayed during Cannes International Film Festival, the reboot is coming from the Fast & Furious franchise producer Neal Moritz, and will have a female director in Ana Lily Amirpour.

According to Deadline, the film will feature a female lead (as you can see on the poster there), and casting is underway now. Another interesting tidbit is that Jason Momoa, rockclimber extraordinaire, will have some kind of cameo in the flick.

Sales for the title were launched this past week during Cannes, and we’re certainly curious to see who bites.

Moritz’s Original Film will produce along with Rocket Science, and Sascha Penn (Creed II) is expected to deliver a first draft of the script soon.

We’ll let you know what we hear about this project, and who ends up in the lead.
