While we’re still some months away from Matt Reeves‘ upcoming “The Batman” releasing, sounds like there are already plans for spinoffs. We know that a new Gotham series is in development at HBO Max, centering on the new take on Batman’s city. It would appear we’re also gonna get a series about Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin.

According to Variety, HBO Max is in the very early stages of developing The Penguin-centric series. If it goes to series, it’ll center on The Penguin’s rise to power. Reeves and “The Batman” producer Dylan Clark will executive produce the possible series via 6th & Idaho and Dylan Clark Productions banners. Warner Bros. Television would also produce if development goes well.

While we’re not sure if Colin Farrell, who plays Penguin in “The Batman,” will be involved yet, but we’re hopeful.

We’ll let you now what we hear about this and other news.

“The Batman” is currently set to release on March 4th, 2022.
