Release Date Changes From Disney, 5 New Marvel Dates Confirmed

Just when we thought we had a semi-cohesive release date slate for Disney and Marvel Studios, five new yet-to-be-titled projects get entries on the calendar. We already knew there were ten release dates with projects attached across Marvel Studios and Disney+, but now we have even MORE.

The five new dates being attributed to Marvel Studios releases are:

    October 7th 2022
    February 17th 2023
    May 5th 2023
    July 28th 2023
    November 3rd 2023

One of these new dates COULD BE a “Fantastic Four” or “X-Men” title. Just imagine!

So if we add these new dates in to the previously-announced slate, this means we’ll be getting four Marvel Studios films released in 2022 (May 6th 2022 for “Black Panther 2,” as well as February 18th and July 29th of 2022 for other yet-to-be-determined Marvel projects), and ANOTHER four in 2023.

Disney has also moved (yet again!) the upcoming Matthew Vaughn-helmed “Kingsman” prequel “The King’s Man,” from February 14th 2020 to September 18th 2020.

Ridley Scott‘s “The Last Duel” (a Fox title) has a December 25th 2020 limited release date, and will get a wide release on January 8th 2021. Based on Eric Jarger‘s book, the film stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, and Ben Affleck.

This title feels like a full-circle moment for the British director, as his first feature film project was 1977’s “The Duelists” staring Keith Carradine, Harvey Keitel, and Albert Finney.

THR says that the Ben Affleck-starring Fox film “Deep Water”  (based on Patricia Highsmith‘s novel) is now set for November 13th 2020. Animated film “Ron’s Gone Wrong” from Fox is getting moved to February 26th 2021, and animated graphic novel adaptation “Nimona” has been pushed back to January 14th 2022.

We mean, this isn’t even counting the numerous “Star Wars” titles- three new untitled “Star Wars” films will start hitting theaters in 2022, with two other follow-ups in 2024 and 2026.

AND, there are the “Avatar” sequels to consider as well-  “Avatar 2” will hit theaters on December 17th 2021,  “Avatar 3” will open on December 22nd 2023, and “Avatar 4” will bow on December 19th 2025.
