We are so very sorry to report the news that legendary director Rob Reiner, along with his wife Michelle, have passed away.

The situation is one that we would describe as…ongoing, as well as horrific.

Rob and his wife were found in their home, victims of a knife attack.

Nick Reiner, Rob and Michelle’s son, was arrested by the LAPD, and charged with murder. Original reports indicated he was being held with a $4 million bail, but he is now being held without bail.

“The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths,” the LAPD said in a statement made on Monday, December 15th. “Nick Reiner was located and arrested at approximately 9:15 p.m. He was booked for murder and remains in custody with no bail. On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.”

“Christopher and I are numb and sad and shocked about the violent, tragic deaths of our dear friends Rob and Michele Singer Reiner and our ONLY focus and care right now is for their children and immediate families and we will offer all support possible to help them,” Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis said of the Reiners. Curtis and her husband, actor Christopher Guest, were married at Rob and Michelle Reiner’s home in 1984. Guest starred in two of Reiner’s films, “This is Spinal Tap,” and it’s sequel, “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”

“There will be plenty of time later to discuss the creative lives we shared a the great political and social impact they both had on the entertainment industry, early childhood development, the fight for gay marriage and their global care for a world in crisis.”
